Community Spotlight – Svetlana Repac

Svetlana is a Russian member of our Croatian sangha. What an international community we are becoming!Svetlana is a Russian member of our Croatian sangha. What an international community we are becoming!

From the Ural Mountain area, through Turkey, where she lived for 12 years, she came to Croatia two years ago with her husband, with whom she has four kids. You might have seen the two twin girls, Michelle and Aurora, in their pink princess dresses dancing around Svetlana during my classes. The family also has two dogs and a cat. Can you imagine how much love there must be in this household?!

No wonder Svetlana was immediately attracted to Kundalini yoga, which is about bringing spirituality into our homes, our families, rather than promoting a solitary life of denouncing material reality. Indeed, this is what Svetlana really likes the most about Kundalini yoga: its spiritual aspect. A long-time practitioner of Iyengar and Hatha yoga, she said that this feature was unique to Kundalini yoga. Moreover, she recognizes that as a mother of four, she really needs to work on her energy field and – as she says, balance her chakras. She believes her Kundalini yoga practice benefits her family members, raising the vibrations of all of them.

Svetlana first tried Kundalini yoga some five months ago, when she came to one of my workshops. Since then, she has been showing up regularly on Fridays, even though she has to run to pick up her girls from the kindergarten just before the class. She says she loves how practice makes her feel; how it changes her state of mind and raises her vibrations. And I am happy to report that she loves the personal touch I bring to my classes! Svetlana also appreciates that there are so many kriyas and meditations for different topics and different intentions. Her intention is to do more mediations this year. Svetlana also likes that we are from different places, as she feels comfortable in international environments.

A few days ago, Svetlana did an advanced gong training with Don Conreaux in Zagreb. She did her first sound healing training with Tibetan bowls some ten years ago. After moving here and with her kids a bit more grown-up now, she feels ready to explore this further and share her gifts. I do hope Svetlana gets to play gong for us soon! And, who knows – we might organize a workshop together. As Svetlana says, “It is all connected!”
